Origin
The origin of dates is historic Mesopotamia . It is the most important palm tree and one of the oldest trees in the oasis growing areas. Nowadays it grows in sub tropical regions, and can rise up to 25-30 meters high. Dates hang on female tree clusters. It has an oval shape similar to prunes, a brilliant skin and a color that can be from dark brown to honey yellow.

Uses
Used as a basic nutrition in middle eastern countries. Consumed freshly as a snack or used as an ingredient in salad, cereals, ice creams, cookies, chocolate, pastry industries, and fruit juices.
