Rice starch is a kind of very fine, white powder, with a number of special features which the other starch dont have. Compared with the other cereal starch, the granule of rice starch is very small in size between 2~8μm, and has uniform particle size. Based on these characteristics of rice starch, it can be used as follows:
(1)Food Industry
Gelatinized rice starch with soft, creamy consistency and cream odor is very easy to smear, which is a good starch for cream. Because rice starch granules and homogeneous fat ball has almost the same size, rice starch and fat has the similar texture, it can be used in some parts of fatty foods, instead of fat. The digestibility of rice starch is 98%~100%, and the binding protein in rice starch is completely non-allergic, so it can be used commonly in baby food and the other special foods.
(2)Pharmaceutical Industry
Rice starch has especially small particle diameterlarger surface areaa good degree of collapsefast water adsorptiondelicate texturelow anti-allergic reactionsoft fragrance, so rice starch is commonly used in molding and bonding of high-grades.
(3)Chemical Industry
Rice starch is well attached to the skin surface in order to get smoothly touch, and also low-allergy, so it can be widely used in cosmetics industry.
