Atlantic cod is primarily caught by trawlers in the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea. It is one of the most popular fish in the world. The flesh of the cod is white with a firm texture. Cod is mainly used salted, dried, and for fresh or frozen fillets.
It is caught all year round and is available as frozen whole fish or fillets, skin-on or skinless. Packed either IQF, layer or in industrial blocks.
The main products are IQF fillet,portion,loins.loinless block and lightly salted fillet(salt content 2%)
The portions include head portions,central portions and tail portions.
