Tea Plantation and Bases

1 The ancient tea trees plantation base from Manglu Mountain of Bandong.

Bandong is situated at the eastern Lincang city, Lincang Snowy Mountains the highest elevation reaching 3429.6 meters, while the lowest of the Xigui ancient ferry point by the Lancang River is only 750 meters above sea level, creating a unique three-dimensional climate. From the Xigui Neolithic site excavated textual and historical relics proving that more than 2200 years ago, the earliest Lincang Pu People have already began planting tea trees here, which explains the presence of ancient tea trees (centuries and some millennium old) distributing all over its natural forests. Among them, ancient tea grown within the Manglu Mountain and the Xigui ancient ferry in the vicinity are most famous, its unique aroma and taste, is widely acknowledged as some of the best Pu'er tea raw material among Pu'er tea connoisseur. To protect these precious ancient tea trees, with the Bandong township government's support and guidance, the farming owner of these ancient tea trees started the JiangLu tea farmer specialized cooperatives of Linxiang District. On December 11, 2009, with the formal signing of the cooperative agreement, these ancient tea trees will be ecologically protected and planned limited picking in implemented.
