We specialize in pineapples of the MD2 variety, better known as the extra sweet or golden pineapple. This type of pineapple stands out for its great taste. It’s much sweeter and contains less acid than other pineapples.
Our organic golden pineapples are 35% sweeter than conventional pineapples because they ripen in 16 months, as opposed to 14 months for its conventional counterpart. The additional two months allow for the plant to accumulate more natural sugars, making it one of the sweetest pineapples on the market.
Growing 100% organic pineapples is achieved by eliminating the use of synthetic agrochemicals while transitioning to natural methods of pest and plague control; for example, recycled black plastic tarps surrounding each plant reduces 80-90% of soil erosion while preventing weeds from choking out the plants.
