II. Application Areas
1. Food Industry: PEG-1500 can be used as an emulsifier, thickener, and moisturizer to improve the stability and smoothness of food products. It slows down aging in baking and imparts a fine, even texture to sauces and condiments. Usage must comply with food safety regulations.
2. Beverage Industry: As a highly effective defoamer, PEG-1500 can stabilize the production process of beer and soft drinks, maintaining the product's clear and bright appearance.
3. Industrial Manufacturing: PEG-1500 has excellent antifreeze, lubrication and flowability adjustment capabilities, making it suitable for industrial applications such as automobiles, air conditioning systems, coatings, pulp, and textiles, ensuring stable and reliable operation even at low temperatures.
4. Pharmaceutical manufacturing: It meets pharmacopoeia standards and can be used as a safe solvent, diluent and drug carrier in the production of various formulations and medical products.
5. Daily chemical industry: As a moisturizing and texture-regulating ingredient, PEG-1500 is used in face creams, lotions, toothpaste, shaving creams and leave-in hair care products to make the products easier to absorb, smoother to use, and gentle and non-irritating.
6. Coatings Industry: Due to its longer molecular chains, it is used in coating systems to enhance coating flexibility and weather resistance. It can be used as a curing modifier for epoxy resins, reducing coating brittleness and cracking risk through cross-linking reactions; it can also improve pigment dispersion stability and inhibit sedimentation and stratification.
III. Packaging Method
Composite paper bags
IV. Stability and Storage Conditions
Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is hygroscopic and should be stored in tightly closed containers, such as glass, plastic, aluminum, and stainless steel containers, in a cool, dry place, avoiding direct sunlight. PEG is a flammable liquid; therefore, fire safety regulations must be followed during storage and handling. Keep away from open flames, heat sources, and oxidizers.
