Round Leaf yam is the premium brand of Jamaican Yam as a result of its superior taste, texture and nutritional content.
Yam makes up the majority of our exports with a number of varieties available. We are able to supply Round Leaf, Negro, Sweet and Yellow Yam in large quantities. Similar in size and color to the potato, but nuttier in flavor, it is not to be confused with the Southern sweet yam or sweet potato. Caribbean yams are served boiled, mashed, or baked. The nutritional content of Jamaican Yam, a staple of some of our biggest track stars including current Olympic Champion and triple world record holder Usain Bolt, is thought to contribute to the athletic prowess of our people.
