SIAL China 2012 reported a new record of 40,722 visitors who came to learn about the latest news and meet new contacts at the Asian Food Marketplace (an increase of 22.4% compared to 2011).
14.5% (5,905 visitors) of the visitors came from outside of China, mainly from Korea, Japan, Australia, and south-east of Asia.
40.76% of the visitors came from the Shanghai area and 44.74% came from the rest of China.
