In 1953, the Jamaican Government created the Coffee Industry Board (CIB) of Jamaica, a regulatory body set up to protect the quality of Jamaican Coffee. Jamaica was the first country in the world to establish a defined geographical region designated to a specfic coffee brand. Similar to the French Wine Industry, when they established (AOC) Appellation d'Origine Controlleè.
All coffee exported from Jamaica is shipped via the CIB. The CIB gurantees, that all coffee exported is 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain. This seal, is the property of the CIB and is your Guarantee of quality.
