Botanical Name: The Cinnamon oil comes from the Cinnamomum zeylanicum.
Origin: Cinnamomum zeylanicum is said to be native to Indonesia, however there are varied opinions for it being indigenous to India and Sri Lanka and even China!
Form: The Cinnamon oil is a medium viscous to watery liquid.
Scent: The Cinnamon oil emanates a warm, spicy and musky smell.
Shade and Appearance: The Cinnamon oil, when extracted, is bright Yellow to look at.
Chemical constituents: The main chemical components of the Cinnamon oil, obtained from the leaves, are Eugenol, Eugenol-Acetate, Cinnamic-Aldehyde and Benzyl-Benzoate.
Extraction method: The leaves and twigs of the Cinnamon tree are subjected to steam distillation to yield Cinnamon oil for us.
Blends well with: The Cinnamon oil blends well with Benzoin, Cloves, Coriander, Cardamom, Frankincense, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lavender, ROSEMARY and Thyme oils.
The 'Oil(some) properties': The Cinnamon oil possesses analgesic, antiseptic, anti-biotic, anti-spasmodic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cardiac, carminative, emmenagogue, insecticide, stimulant, stomachic, tonic and vermifuge properties.
