A real winewith softness, which is only produced on average one vintage of five. The youngwines of this cuvee offer a simple but elegant approach due to thewonderful terroir at Tirecul. The care lavished on these ripe Grapes is identicalto that of the other liquoureux.
The Vineyard:
Appellation/Label: AOC MONBAZILLAC
Geology of Soil and Sub Structure: Sub structure chalk or marn, very variedsoil: Very chalky on high ground, clay/chalk on mid slope, clay/sand on lowground.
Terroir: Very fresh, well drained thanks to its slopes, quite late ripening,frost free. Proximity to the Dordognefavourable to autumn mists.
Orientation: East, north and north east; Hillsideslopes; from 60 to 100 metres of altitude.
Grape Varieties: In general around 20% muscadelle and 80% semillon
Age of Vines: Average of 7 years
Farming Method: Reasoned agriculture, only organic manure. The domain is in theprocess of converting to organic farming.
Yield: Around 20hl/hectare
Harvest: Manual by select picks. We look for botrytised grapes or grapes in theprocess of becoming botrytised with a concentration approaching a 20 degreepotential, while at the same time conserving freshness.
