Our factories have world-standard processing equipment, including state-of-the-art technology with
total production at six million basic cases per year. The Ashton Canning Company facility was recently
revamped at a substantial cost, making it one of the most modern and technologically advanced
factories in the world.
Process engineering and strategic manufacturing support all these operating units with the
implementation of the latest processing technology to ensure production processes which yield
consistently reliable quality products at a lower cost.
Quality starts at the farm, with full traceability and independent laboratories maintaining stringent
standards. Ninety-five percent of all produce is sourced within a 150km radius of our factories, ensuring
the least time possible required between picking and processing.
Our plants are both HACCP and BRC certified and we recently received ISF accreditation.
All production is inspected on a daily basis according to stringent South African Government
regulations, undertaken by the Perishable Export Control Board (PPECB), an independent agency.
Grading regulations for fresh fruit include allowable pesticides, withholding periods and maximum
residue levels. Our strict adherence to these regulations is monitored regularly by submitting samples
of fresh fruit to independent laboratories for analysis.
