Argentinian hake (Merluza hubbsi) is referred to family (Merlucciidae) . Argentinian hake colour is greyish on dorsal region and silvery white on belly. Argentinian hake weighs 300-1200+ gr and is smalles that its relative (Merluza australis) which is caught nearby. Maximum recorded length is 95 cm. Males common size is up to 50 cm, females up to 60 cm. Argentinean hake undertakes migrations associated with high-production oceanic fronts in the area it migrates north from the continental shelf to deeper waters in summer/autumn and returns at the beginning of spring. Hake is important commercial fish in Argentina and Uruguay with annual catch of approximately 80,000 tonnes.
