Serrano Pepper Ale is a delightful balance of the snappy, fruity flavor of serrano chile peppers with the delicate hoppy flavors of a pale ale. An ever-so-slight tingle of heat follows the announcement of the peppers in the ale's fragrant aroma. Pale American two-row, crystal and Carapils malts comprise the malt bill. Chinook bittering hops and Willamette hops for flavor balance the brew; whole Willamettes are used for dry-hopping after fermentation for added aroma. Fresh Mexican serrano chile peppers - over a pound in every barrel - are added to the brew kettle at just the right time to add wild pepper flavor and mild pepper heat.
