"Sea grapes" also known as green caviar, is a collective term for the edible varieties of the green seaweed genus Caulerpa. The name “sea grapes” comes from the appearance of this seaweed variety; it looks like tiny clusters of green grapes.The edible bubbles are technically the leafy part of the seaweed, and they grow on a long edible stem.
Sea grapes can be preserved for a long time without affecting damage to the texture, etc. thereof. Also, consumers can enjoy an unprecedented taste, while the risk of food poisoning is reduced. In the process, seawater is removed from the seagrapes, packed in a mold in a desired shape and transformed into a mass followed by salting.
How to eat:
To reconstitute the preserved product, they are put into a cup, a bowl or a dish and water is poured into it just enough to cover the grains turning into its original form. With soy sauce, a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar and sugar, a dressing or the like, consumers can enjoy the lumpy texture and the fresh taste.
