The tradition of brewing tinctures goes back to the beginnings of the Noblemans Polish Republic. herbs, fruit (including wild fruit) and even flowers were used for the production of these Liqueurs. Brewing and enjoying tinctures constituted integral part of the customs in manor houses till the 20s. After world war II, the tradition of liqueur brewing started vanishing. Many of the old recipes, however, were preserved in Polish homes, where tinctures are being brewed even now. Family recipes are strictly preserved and pass from generation to generation to trusted persons only. Some of the recipes are the result of many experiments, which have produced original compositions of taste. Tasting the noble, home-made liqueurs, and enjoying them was accompanied by certain ritual - the taste, smell and even color relishing. Polmos Lublin S. A. Has inherited the old polish tradition of tinctures brewing. The Borderland Tinctures: Crane, Cherry, Nuts and herbs are the best compositions of tastes and aromas, selected from old recipes.
