Also known as You cai - means "flowering stem". Chye sim is easier to recognize from its thinner stem. It has firm white stems and dark green leaves. Chye sim properly refers to a vegetable that has stalks that are about 1" wide with some vertical space between them. Both steams and leaves can be use for steamed or stir-fried.Our export quality standard of chye sim is the one that has 20 - 30 cm length, fresh leaves, no-holes, free-worm, clean lower end steam, no flakes, and middle size of lump. All selected chye sim are wash clean, place into a plastic bag (each bag contains 400 grams). Each 25 bags put into 1 Styrofoam box (10 kgs nett for each box), together with ice in the bags.
