Cane Sugar is extracted from sugarcane. Sugarcane is harvested when it reaches its peak sugar content, often after two years of growth. Juice is squeezed from the sugarcane, and made into raw syrup. The raw syrup is then refined (purified) and evaporated to form crystals. Refining removes the last impurities from the golden raw sugar, making it suitable for consumption. After refining, the sugar will go through various processes to make the desired product, such as syrup, sugar cubes, or powdered sugar.
