Fresh Starfruit
Ripe carambolas are golden, refreshingly sweet, and succulent. A rich source of vitamins A and C, it also quenches thirst and helps prevent heat stroke. Apart from its unique taste, the carambola also has a distinct exterior. Its cross-section resembles a star, hence its common name, "starfruit". Currently, Taiwan has dedicated about 2,000 hectares of land to carambola cultivation. As a result of continuous development of new hybrids, Taiwan carambolas are especially large and pleasantly sweet.
