Grown in mountain area as high as 900- 1,200 meters above sea level, Wild Ceylon Oak is troprical fruit commonly found in North Eastern of Thailand. The fruit of Ceylon Oak Wild has brown mixed with light green, leather-like outer skin shelled the yellowish flesh with seed at the core, just like Longan or Lychee.  The fruit is sour, juicy and tasty.   It's riped and harvestable during the raining season, only once a year (March to July). And the fact that it's wild fruit naturally grew in high land forest, this fruit is rare and hardly see in any typical markets even in Thailand. 

 

Culinary speaking, Ceylon Oak fruit is often use to make some local spicy and tasty salad for special occasion.  But once it becomes juice, the taste is different, even better in fact.
