Chestnut (Castanea spp.). Chestnut trees belong to the fagaceae tree family, usually found in the milder regions of the north hemisphere. The nuts of this tree are known as chestnuts. Harvests in the summer.

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS

Amber to dark amber colour, 70 mm max. Pfund. Floral aroma with clearly distinctive woody components of dry wood. Sweet taste with some salty notes. Very often, if heather is predominantly present, the taste will be more sour and if there is more broom there will be more acidic notes. Low tendency to crystallize except if there is a large presence of wild pulses.

 

INDUSTRIAL PROCESS / PACKING : The honey is submitted to a filtering process, homogenization and/or pasteurization, according to the client's requirements and is stored in:

• 25 kg plastic drums,

• 300 kg iron drums,

• 1.400 kg IBC or

• 24.000 kg tanker lorries.

• The retail packaging is on demand and with the own brand of the customer.
