Chestnut honey, which is dark brown and a little bitter in taste, has a taste and smell unique to chestnut. Chestnut honey is known for its antiseptic properties. The flowering time of the chestnut tree, which are about 30 meters high, is June and July. Honey bee collects both pollen and nectar as well as secretions from chestnut.
