The processing of fruits has been shifting towards the competitive fruit processing belts in recent years. Of which, the processing of dehydrated fruits is mainly along the Southeastern coastal provinces, Ningxia and Gansu in the Northwest; production of canned fruits and processing of frozen fruits are in Zhejiang, Fujian, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. From the perspective of establishment of bases, there are two concentrated apple juice processing bases, i.e., one along the Bohai Bay (Shandong, Liaoning and Hebei) and another one on the Loess Plateau in the Northwest (Shaanxi, Shanxi and Henan), there is the peach syrup processing base in North China, the concentrated tropical fruit (pineapple, mango and banana) juice and condensed syrup processing base in the tropical region (Hainan and Yunnan), the concentrated grape juice processing base in Xinjiang, the peach syrup and concentrated pear juice processing base based on Hebei, Tianjin and Anhui, and the concentrated tangerine juice and non recombined tangerine processing base based on Chongqing and Hubei, whereas there are processing bases based on Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Tianjin and Guangzhou for direct consumption of fruit/vegetable juices/drinks. Priority is accorded to the development of concentrated fruit/vegetable juices (syrups), dehydrated fruits and vegetables, frozen fruits and vegetables, canned fruits and vegetables, storage, transportation and fresh keeping in raw material producing regions. While in the main consuming regions such as the large and medium cities, the priority is given to the development of retail of fruit/vegetable juice products. Meanwhile, great effort is accorded to the fostering of large-scale fruit/vegetable circulating and processing enterprises. |
