Chymotrypsin is a kind of protease that can preferentially hydrolyze the peptide bond formed of the carboxyl of l-tyrosine and L-Phenylalanine. The optimum pH is 8.09.0 for the hydrolysis. The activity of Chymotrypsin can be blocked by heavy metal and other natural trypsin inhibitors to different levels.
Clinically, Chymotrypsin can be used for wound healing, inflammation resistance, preventing from local edema, gore, wrick haematoma, and edema after breast surgery, tympanitis and rhinitis etc.
