Citrus comes from South East Asia (India, South China), and somespecies from United States of America (Florida), North Australia, andNew Caledonia. Citrus species consists of six genera, namely: 1) Citrus ; 2) Microcitrus ; 3) Fortunella ; 4) Poncirus ; 5) Cymenia , and 6) Eremocitrus . These genera have singular leaves, except Poncirus that has plural leaves (trifoliate). Among these six genera, the highest economic value is in Citrus genus . Citrus has two sub genera, namely Citrus and Papeda. Sub genera of Citrus has ten species, seven of them have been cultivated and become commercial oranges:
