The king coconut is a fruit given to us by nature exclusively for drinking.  While the green coconut has multiple uses, the edible Kernel is what it is mainly used for.  In Sri Lanka, a country that has more coconuts than Thailand, the king coconut is the preferred choice when it comes to consumption as a beverage.  The water of the king coconut contains a better balance of sweetness in comparison to the green coconut. It often contains electrolyte levels much closer to that of human plasma, making it an excellent re-hydrant.
