Walnut shell can be ground according to specification. As an abrasive grit, it is much less destructive than sand, but it can be used for blasting, deburring and polishing.
Deburring is similar to sand blasting, but it utilizes walnut powder to cut away at dirt and grime. This process is used to clean buildings, cathedrals, jet engines and gun shells, among others.
