Its name already betrays its special character. Cream cheese is made from milk with different levels of fat content by means of acidulants or the effect of rennin and – in contrast to many other types of cheese – can be enjoyed immediately. As a result, cream cheese also has only a short shelf life and must be stored as cool as possible.
Unlike most other types of cheese, which do not develop their full aroma until they reach room temperature, cream cheese is best eaten cooled. It captivates as a result of its variation possibilities and is excellently suited for mixing with different ingredients such as herbs and spices – but also with fruit or chocolate. It is available at every level of fat content.
