Crude coconut oil A natural oil derived from dried coconut meat (COPRA), is the rawmaterial in the manufacture of cooking oil and specialty oil productssuch as shortening, baking fats and margarine. It is a major source ofmedium-chain triglycerides (MCT), a medium food for special dietarypurposes and for intravenous feeding of severely injured persons.
Intermediate chemical derivatives are manufactured from this productwhich are in turn used in the production of soap and detergents,cosmetics and toiletries, surfactants, foam-boosters, industrialcleaning agents, emulsifiers, lubricants, plasticizers, pharmaceuticalsand explosives.
