Curcumin is Extracted from the root of Turmeric (Curcuma Longa L) , it is yellow
to yellow orange crystalline powder at normal temperature . With its typical odor, it dissolves in ethanol,
acetone, glycol and alkaline solution, but it doesn’t dissolve in cold water and ether .It is stable to heat. Sun- light
lightens its color but does not affect the hue. It appears reddish -brown in alkaline situation,
but the color changes when it meets Fe3+ and Cu2+.
