Detailed introduction to Despierta Specialty Coffee from Colombia:
Colombian coffee is a protected designation of origin granted by the European Union (September 2007) applied to coffee produced in Colombia. This large bean, consistently good taste, medium body, full aroma coffee, has been recognized worldwide as having high quality and distinctive taste because of its location, harvest, transportation, and transformation process. All this is possible because of producers and professionals that take care of all the process. Our project, recognizing colombian coffee social relevance, and the importance of producers communities on quality of coffee in the complex conflict context of Colombia, is paying a fair price to producers and also shares profit with them, tacking care of reinvestment on social projects to benefit the whole community. Work with women is encouraged to strengthen their opportunities.
