Description:
Dried Apples are the fruit of a deciduous tree that is related to the rose. Apples come in varieties numbering in the thousands and are the second most valuable fruit in the United States. Some apple trees will grow over forty feet high and live over a hundred years. Apples are obtainable in an assortment of colors, from lemony yellow and vivid green to scarlet red. Apples differ in flavors and textures that range from tender and soft to crisp and tart. Dried Apples eliminate the associated problems of storing fresh fruit for long periods of time. Our Apples are peeled, dried and cored and contain no fat or cholesterol. A refreshing ingredient in pies, chutneys, strudels, sauces, stuffing and salads.
Chieftain's dried Julienne Apples contain sulfites.
Suggested Use:
This dried fruit can be used straight from the bag or rehydrate and use as you would fresh apples. Fragrantly delicious in fall soups and winter stuffings. Versatile as an ingredient in rice pilaf and puddings and a healthy snack for children and adults alike. Use in trail mix, cereals, muffins, pancakes, breads, and candies.
