Our product, DRIED EUCHEUMA SPINOSUM SEAWEED, also called as EUCHEUMA DENTICULATUM and commercially known as SPINOSUM, together with Eucheuma Cottonii Seaweed are the two most cultivated and exported seaweed from the Philippines.
Eucheuma Spinosum / Denticulatum Seaweed is known to be on of the main sources carrageenan. Spinosum produces soft gel in the presence of calcium ions. As such, it is use as one of the ingredients of toothpaste, soy milk, diet sodas, shampoo, cosmetic creams among others. In Southeast Asia and Eastern Asia, spinosum is popularly consumed as food like salad dish and snacks.
