Dried Fig and Raisin new season products
MARKET REPORT (month of November 2009)
Raisins: Farm prices firmed up due to export prices above $ 2.000 fob/ton now
being freely accepted. Wineries also activerly continue purchases . 140.000
tons were bought by packers and 20.000 tons by wineries. Assuming local
consumption will be 20.000 tons, 90.000 tons seems to be in the hands of
growers as of today.
Raisin paste prices continue to be very attractive.
Shipments at the end of November were 69.000 tons. Average fob/ton price
was $ 1.796 .
Dried Figs: Market was quite in November. Available good quality fruits are
Very limited now. Export shipments of retail packs have been 10% over normal
Christmas shipments, inspite of the higher prices of this season.
