Brenntag's e-business activities have further optimized the quality of cooperation with suppliers and the standard of services for customers. e-business makes the processes between Brenntag and its partners - such as purchasing and sales orders or electronic invoices - faster, more transparent and even more reliable.
Brenntag started to build its e-business infrastructure back in 2000 - with the customer portals myBrenntag.net in Europe, Brenntag.cc in North America and the Online Store in Canada.
The e-business platforms offer a wide spectrum of services for customers, creating a fast and easy-to-use direct line to Brenntag and providing a comprehensive range of options - from an overview of more than 85,000 products in Europe, defined search functions for each individual product and price inquiries all the way through to order placement. In addition, the portals also offer extended functionalities such as downloads of important documents (like analysis certificates or safety data sheets) and convenient ordering overviews.
Brenntag is also involved in the electronic network Elemica - together with the world's leading chemical producers.
Elemica helps customers and suppliers in the chemical industry to optimize and speed up the flow of information between companies. The network supports not only ordering and payment processes but also the handling of logistics and supply chain management. In contrast to Internet-based marketplaces, Elemica is not designed to promote the acquisition of new business but is geared towards supporting existing business relationships.
Nearly 1,500 companies are meanwhile linked up to Elemica, including almost all the well-known chemical producers. Brenntag joined the Elemica network in May 2002 and has since been able to optimize its purchasing operations both in the USA and in most of the countries of Europe through its cooperation with eight top suppliers.
Furthermore, the e-business infrastructure also allows Brenntag to establish direct electronic links with customers and suppliers.
Our e-business activities enable us to offer customers and suppliers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for the more effective and cost-efficient handling of joint processes with our partners - from SMEs all the way through to multinational suppliers.
