Earl Grey

Earl Grey is our Pekoe tea with bergamot oil. A small Italian manufacturer has supplied the bergamot oil, which is pressed in the old way and thus tastes a bit more of Mandarin than we are experiencing today.

Pekoe is a very fine quality bud with low levels of tannins. We have mixed the tea with the precise amount of Jasmine flowers that promotes a nice round and fresh taste.

 

We cultivate tea without any use of pesticides, and respect humans and nature

In our plantations we handpick the tea, while the tea leaves are still small. We harvest two days before the leaves are normally considered ready to be picked in Sri Lanka (Ceylon). The result is a light, pure and delicate tea of highest quality. We recycle our resources, and contribute to social development in poor areas of Sri Lanka. At Chaplon Tea we invest in the health and education for our employees and their families. We pay well, incl. pension, we have limited working hours and reimburse medicine for our employees, we offer English classes and the possibility of partnership.
