About the Vineyard:
Finca Esmeralda is located in San Rafael region of Mendoza, at an altitude of 2,500 feet above sea level. This is an arid climate with warm days and cool nights, ideal for growing robust red grapes.
Wine Making:
Following hand harvesting in late March, the grapes were de-stemmed and gently split open. Fermentation was conducted in a combination of open top vessels and closed tanks with gentle cap irrigators. Post fermentation extended maceration was used to build body and structure. Malolactic fermentations finished in barrel. Wines are racked once in the first year.
