Pharmacological actions:
Echinacea increases bodily resistance to infection and is used for boils, erysipelas, septicemia, cancer, syphilis and other impurities of the blood, its action being antiseptic. Commission E approved and WHO supports the use of Echinacea herb as supportive therapy for colds and chronic infections of the respiratory tract and lower urinary tract. Commission E approved external use of Echinacea purpurea herb for poorly healing wounds and chronic ulcerations.
