Bolletje pitas are baked in the same traditional way they were in Egypt two thousand years ago. They are packed in a vacuum-packed wrapper and must be baked in a toaster, grill or (for five minutes at 250°C) in the oven. The Egyptian Pita is available in two sizes: regular and large. The regular pita is mostly used for kebab meat, but can also be filled with a hamburger or simply with a good Dutch cheese. When filling with cheese, it is best to put the slices into the pita before baking.
