Navel orange/Navel oranges are native of southern China and West Africa.  West Africa oranges include sweet and Sour two basic kinds.  West Africa sweet oranges inchude common sweet  (21varieties), blood (3varieties) , and navel(14varieties) three kinds. Sweet oranges are most commonly cultivated and used for eating fresh and juicing.  Sour oranges are most commonly used in marmalade production. Oranges have a leathery, oily orange coloured rind (skin) of varying thickness, depending on the variety, with a juicy orange flesh.   Both seeded and seedless varieties are cultivated.  Oranges are an excellent source of vitamin c and are also a good source of fibre.  They also contain some beta carotene, as well as many other carotenoids.  The pith and peel are rich in pectin and flavonoids.
