Alaska Pollock ( Theragra chalcogramma ) is a species of the cod family Gadidae. Alaska pollock is a semipelagic schooling fish widely distributed in the North Pacific with largest concentrations found in the eastern Bering Sea. Alaska Pollock is world's second most important fish species in terms of total catch.
Alaska Pollock has a snow-white, flaky and tender fillet with mild flavour. The meat is high in protein and low in fat and calories. Moreover, every 85 grams (3 ounce) of cooked Fillets can provide between 400 and 500 milligrams of heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
