COALFISH, SAITHE (Pollachius virens)

Quality: Whole, fillets, frozen fillets, clipfish, or stockfish
Season: All year
Coalfish, also know as coley and saithe, is widely distributed across the Atlantic Ocean and is very common along the entire Norwegian coast. The coalfish spawns in February - April.
The spawning grounds are found outside the Norwegian coast and in The North Sea. Small coalfish (younger than one year old) are found in large numbers along the Norwegian coast during the autumn
