The fresh fruits processed by the company largely include: Pineapple, Mango, Papaya, Golden fresh Co

The fresh fruits processed by the company largely include: Pineapple, Mango, Papaya, Golden fresh Coconut and lime. These fruits are grown on the rich organic soils of Ghana. The fruits PROVEST requires for its processes are allowed to mature up to 145 days and the brick is at least 13. The pineapple should be firm stem but not dry, no physical or insect damage. The harvesting is done within 12 hours of its maturity date. Checks are done on the fruit to be sure of no bruises or damage to skin. This is done by our qualified Agronomist who has post graduate degree in Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast. They are cultivated by our registered out-grower farmers in the areas where the yield of the fruits are good. The cultivated trees start maturing and bearing fruits between 3 to 5 years. The agronomical practices are checked by the Agronomist. The mature fruits are checked physically for insect infections, stone weevil and all other defects. The physical appearance of the fruit should be attractive and purely mature and naturally ripping on the trees before they are harvested.

The mature and approved fruits are harvested into clean plastic crates and transported to the factory. The fruits are kept refrigerated just below room temperature at +23oC. They grow on trees of between 3 to 4 meters high. It requires slashing and cleaning of the environment. The fruits are carefully handled during the flowering through to maturity.

All fallen fruit are buried in the ground and distant from the fruit tree areas. The mature fruits show signs of being golden yellow. The fruit is thoroughly examined for damages, insect bites, and colouration or otherwise. It is then harvested and kept in clean crates and transported to the factory. This fruit is grown in the coastal belt of the western region. The fruits are initially green and then the mature fruits become dry and brown. It is grown natural in Ghana and the best practices used in the field are slashing, weeding and collecting dead dropped branches and burning. The fruit does not need any form of chemicals: Weedicides, insecticides or fertilizer for its growth. Mulching is a major practice in these fields. It is then harvested and fibres removed from them. The fruit is then transported in crates to the factory.

The fruits are kept at below room temperature at +23oC.
