WHAT IS GALANGAL?

Galangal is a familiar spice in many Thai dishes. In Vietnam, it is also used for many meals to neutralize the flavors of the dishes. Galangal brings an attractive and distinctive flavor to the dish.

The galangal mostly focuses on the moist and not so light places. Hence, it is easy to find it in the dense forest or along rivers, even in valleys. Its season is much more in summer and autumn. The plant fastly grows each year from the rhizome.
