The recent efforts of the Garda Lake's producers have been focused on the achievement of the D.O.P. (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) acknowledgement and of the 'twelve stars' symbol, according to the national and the EC legislation, in order to guarantee an international protection to the genuine Garda olive oil.
The D.O.P. production 'disciplinare' foresees, besides specific production rules, particular qualitative parameters, both bio-chemical and 'organolettici',considerably higher than those
indicate by EEC.
The Garda Bresciano D.O.P. comes from an accurate selectionof Casaliva, Leccino and Frantoio olives (min 55%).
