We've discovered the most beautiful fair-trade basket at our local Ten Thousand Villages store and filled it with 4 healthy, delicious pastas (Spinach, Fiesta, Whole Wheat Fettuccine and Roasted Garlic Linguine), 2 of Monique's Sumptuous Sauces (Marvelous Marinara and Outrageous Olive and Caper and don?t forget that the sauces are sweetened with fresh grated carrot-no honey, sugar or corn-syrup), All-Natural Beeswax Candles (we roll them ourselves), and Recipes galore. Here is the story of the basket: Artisans living in Bangladesh made the basket using locally grown Kaisa grass. Asheda Bibi learned about Kaisa weaving from her neighbor and with the income she earns can send her children to school. Good food, Good Deeds!
