Hard-shelled almonds are produced in various regions of the country and they are, in tern, divided into three types. Kaati, Small Kaati and Hazaragi. Small Kaati, as the name indicates, is basically a smaller size of Kaati almond. Hazaragi, however, is quite different as you will be able to tell from the pictures provided below and they are mainly produced in central and cold regions of Afghanistan.
Kaati almonds are sorted into large and medium sizes. The large size is simply kaati while the medium size is referred as the "small kaati".
