CUMIN SEEDS –

                   Common names – cumin, Jeera,

           India is the largest producer and consumer of Jeera in the world. In India, Jeera is sown in October-November and harvested in February. Fresh crop generally reaches the market during March. Unjha in Gujarat is the main trading centre for Jeera in the country. Delhi, Jaipur and Rajkot are also known as major terminal markets for Jeera.

Cumin is a very popular spice all around the world. It is integral part of various Indian dishes. The health benefit of cumin for digestive disorders has been well known throughout history.

Availability – cumin seeds are available all around the year. In India it is mainly harvested in February – March.
