Izvor mineral water is extracted from the coastal area of Dobrudja from  a well R - 113 at a depth of 1100 meters. The well is located close to the Kaliakra Cape in a resort spa classified as a biosphere reservation according to the Washington Convention on Nature Protection signed in 1941. The proximity of the sea and the availability of spring waters have guaranteed the dynamic life in the region throughout the historical ages whereas human presence dates way back to the fifth millennium before Christ. The qualities of the mineral water have been known to the local people for centuries.
