This matcha "Makinoshiro" is produced last month in Uji City, Kyoto prefecture where is famous for its highest quality Matcha production region in Japan. The soil of Uji is favored by weather and climate conditions, which are the best for the production of tea leaves. In its production process, the tea plants for matcha are shaded with reed or straw screens to block out sunlight for about 3 weeks prior to harvest. This causes production of amino Acid in the tea leaves that make the resulting tea sweeter. Then harvested leaves are steamed and dried without pressing. Unlike sencha, matcha is made by grinding tea leaves by a stone mill. When drinking matcha, you can get 100 percent beneficial nutrition from the leaf. Because matcha contains polyphenols, antioxidant properties and rich in Vitamine C.
